After spending ten years in San Francisco growing his business, he took a hiatus and moved to Northern Nevada where he accepted a full-time position with the Nevada Army National Guard. Many friends and old clients had commented that they were unable to find quality frames like Shawn's at reasonable prices. He realized how much he missed the framemaking business. So he revived the business and in 2003 he moved to Southern California where his reputation preceeded him. Though he makes frames for clients all over the United States and Europe, his move to Southern California has proved to be the best market for his business. There he is conveniently located to many clients and to his special suppliers.

Shawn oversees every aspect of every frame that is made. As a master framemaker, he is a carpenter, a wood carver, and a gilder. Many frame shops are owned by brokers who have their frames made in China or Mexico and then they finish them here and put their stamp on it. Therefore, they are unable to really control the quality and style of their product. Shawn Speck frames are heirloom quality frames made in the United States by artists and craftsman to your specifications in consultation with Shawn himself.

Yvonne Speck, Shawn's wife, joined the company in 2001 after a career as a luxury travel consultant. She enjoys making sales calls and doing administrative work for Shawn.
