Shawn Speck Picture Frames was formed in 1989 by Shawn Speck in San Francisco, California. Shawn, a fourth generation artisan, inherited the family talent and decided to make framemaking a full-time business.Shawn began making frames in his father's studio in Carmel, California and then established his own studio in San Francisco.
In 2003 he moved to Southern California where his reputation preceeded him. Though he makes frames for clients in the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East his move to Southern California has proved to be an excellent base of operations.
Shawn oversees every aspect of every frame that is made in his shop. As a master framemaker, he is a carpenter, a wood carver, and a gilder. Many frame shops are owned by brokers who have their frames made in China or Mexico and then they finish them here and put their stamp on it. Therefore, they are unable to really control the quality and style of their product. Shawn Speck Frames are heirloom quality frames made in the United States by Shawn and his small crew of assistants to your specifications.
